Mikey Gonebad & Stephen "Psycho" Ward
biography
"The Story Of Bloodshot:

Bloodshot was born in the summer of 1995 as a songwriting team consisting of Stephen "Psycho" Ward, Mikey Gonebad and Lorrie Thonei in Carrollton Missouri. Initially named "Bloodshot Music Ink", their primary emphasis was on writing, recording and pitching songs. After a couple of months, the trio realized they were sitting on a stockpile of great original music that dwarfed any local bands at that time and they felt they had enough talent to put together their own live act. Bloodshot Music Ink., the band, was formed. The first incarnation of the live band included Nick Albrecht on drums and John Barricklow on bass. After endless rehearsals, recording, partying and a couple of small club gigs, this line up staged the legendary Moss Creek Meltdown in August of 1997 which drew nearly 1000 people to the sleepy municipality of Moss Creek, Missouri with only a couple of flyers being posted. A couple of months later, Nick left the band and was replaced by Paul Stewart. 1999 brought many personnel changes. Co-founding member Lorrie Thonei left and was replaced by Shadow Smith. Sadly, in 2000, John Barricklow passed away but had already left the band and was replaced by Joey Krug. This configuration of Ward, Gonebad, Smith, Stewart and Krug pressed on with a heavily-booked live schedule which finally proved too much for Stewart who left the band in late 1999 and was promptly replaced by Chris Thomas. Shadow also left the band in 1999 and was never replaced. It was this embodiment including Krug and Thomas that saw the most productive phase of Bloodshot. With the release of the Red Album, the band seemed to be moving in the right direction. However, Krug announced plans to relocate to Topeka, Kansas and left the band in 2000. Krug was replaced by bassist, Marty Johnson in 2000. Also in 2000, the band acquired manager, Steve Stevens and then mistakenly changed their name to Soulwrench for a short time. Personal and creative differences developed and culminated at a KLRQ benefit show in Lowry City, Missouri. Since then, Ward and Gonebad have been writing and recording with the prospect of someday releasing another great album that would be worthy of constructing a live act again.
